Article from Handling Equipment Sales Ltd
Kentruck supply the solution to:
Roundel Manufacturing
Bending and lifting are NOT required
using a:
Kentruck GXN1200

The problem:
Furniture producer Roundel Manufacturing of Washington Tyne & Wear had a problem
with the traditional practice of manual handling from floor-stacked in-process furniture panels outlawed
by Safety and Health legislation because of the high risk to operators from constant stooping and
twisting.
The application:
The panels are fed into the machine for panel drilling and edging
The solution:
Handling Equipment Sales recommended the GXN1200 Giraffe with a fork width of
685mm to enable the panels to be handled safely and easily. The GXN enables the operator to use the
truck initially as a pallet truck, enabling bulk panel stocks to be manoeuvred precisely to the workstation.
Once the stack height has been manually positioned a simple setting of the electronic height adjuster,
which adjusts up the stack as the units are removed, is all that is required to present each panel at the
optimum level for transfer.
Every unit within the stack—which can contain up to several hundred panels—is as accessible as the first.
The fourteen GXN’s have been in the company’s production area for a reasonable time and have made
a big impact on the production, Roundels Roy Ramshaw fully expects a fast return on their investment
and is currently looking to purchase more trucks for the assembly area.
Giraffe GX1200 with a capacity of 1200kg, lift height 800mm. This equipment comes with manual or
Electric lift. Extra options: level control or remote control.
